A guide to a fabulous Easter

Published on 21 March 2018 by Style Curator

Easter is just around the corner and with so many beautiful decorations and homewares available this year, we can’t help but feel excited to get ready for a lovely long weekend spent with our family and friends.

Brunch has always seemed like a perfect choice for Easter – it’s early enough in the day that the kids aren’t hyper from the chocolate, but late enough that it is totally respectable to eat chocolate as at least one of your courses!

Canberra Centre is full to the brim with everything you need to host an epic brunch – from food to homewares right through to setting up an amazing egg hunt for the kids!

More is more for your table setting

Easter is the perfect opportunity to style your table with a quirky tea-party feel using mismatched crockery, and woodland themed accessories.

Bed Bath N Table have been sharing some gorgeous Easter table styling to get you inspired – just check out those gorgeous pics above!

Here are some of our top finds to create your own stunning Easter table setting at home.

Shop Tabletop bunny ears at Target $4

Food, food and more food.

If you don’t need to wear stretchy pants to an Easter meal, did you even Easter?

A staple inclusion for any Easter brunch is hot cross buns. Extra points if you bake them yourself, using this delicious recipe from Wheel and Barrow.

Of course, you can find all the cookware to make these in store as well as stylish tableware to display them with pride on the table.

Cater for the kids

One of my favourite things about Easter is seeing the absolute joy on the faces of the little ones as they scurry around the yard searching for treats. BIGW have done all the hard work for you with a handy Easter Egg Hunt checklist. In store, you’ll be able to find ready-made Easter egg hunt signs, bunting, egg baskets and so much more. An inexpensive way to add a sense of magic for young children is drawing bunny footprints in chalk along the path and sprinkling Easter confetti.

Another fun activity for kids is an egg decorating competition. If blowing your own natural eggs sounds like too much hard work, you can find plastic eggs at a range of stores including BIGW. Get children to decorate these using paints, sequins, feathers and other craft supplies for hours of fun.

If your little ones are not quite at the hunt and craft stages yet, Seed Heritage has a divine Easter collection in store so you can dress them is sweet Easter attire and get in the spirit that way.

Alternatively, another popular tradition is to gift the kids with some warm pyjamas to herald the arrival of autumn and the cooler season. You could get the whole family involved in the Easter fun with these matching pyjamas from Peter Alexander.
